Denver is acquiring center Cleveland center JaVale McGee for Isaiah Hartenstein and two future protected second-round picks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
McGee’s averaging 2.9 blocks/36 minutes this season, the 10th most in the NBA, while the Nuggets are the worst team in the league at defending the restricted area and are looking to improve on that. Teams are shooting an NBA-best 65.7% from inside 5 feet against Denver.
He played 33 games this season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, averaging eight points, 5.2 boards, and one assist in 15 minutes. On the other hand, Hartenstein averaged 3.5 points and 2.8 rebounds in nine mintues over 30 games.
