Nikola Jokic posted his 14th triple-double of the 2020-21 NBA Regular Season and 54th of his career in the Denver Nuggets loss, 105-87, to the Boston Celtics on Sunday evening.
Jokic, 26, ended up with 17 points, 11 assists, and ten rebounds in 32 minutes. He shot 6/15 from the field missing both of his three-point attempts. Facundo Campazzo produced 14 points, four assists, and three rebounds with the eight-game winning streak snapped.
The guests were down 76-62 but outscored the Nuggets, 43-11, the rest of the way. The team coached by Michael Malone was held to eight points in the fourth quarter at the Ball Arena.
French Evan Fournier was sidelined after entering NBA’s health and safety protocols. German Moritz Wagner entered the game in garbage time but did not get on the board. The same for Slovenian Vlatko Cancar of the losing side.
The Celtics, eighth in the Eastern Conference, are now 28-26. The Nuggets, fourth in the West, fell to 34-19 concluding a five-game homestand at 4-1.
