Steph Curry continues his insanely hot shooting streak with 47 points on 11 3-pointers but Jayson Tatum provided a strong enough response of 44 points to lead the Boston Celtics to a 119 – 114 win over the Golden State Warriors.
Tatum’s scoring and rebounding (11 boards) output was precious for the Celtics to extend their winning streak to 6-0 and hand the Warriors their first loss after five victories. The two of them had a short convo on the court upon the game’s completion.
“There’s just mutual respect,” Tatum said to ESPN right after the match. “Obviously he’s one of the greats. To just earn the respect of someone like him and get the win is everything.”
Curry, who had his third game with 10 or more 3-pointers in a week in his new offensive spectacle, praised his young opponent for his display in the match and overall performances.
“You can tell the game has slowed down for him, just in the way he picks and chooses his spots and how he manages the game,” Curry said. “He’s shooting the ball a lot better from the perimeter, but when that game slows down … that’s when you become lethal.”
