Deni Avdija will miss the rest of the season as a result of the ankle injury he suffered in Wednesday’s game vs. the Golden State Warriors, according to ESPN.
ESPN’s report says that Avdija’s X-rays showed that the injury is a hairline fracture that will keep him out for two to three months. The Israeli rookie won’t be required to be operated.
Avdija was hurt near the end of the first half, when he made a layup attempt and landed awkwardly on his ankle. He was visibly in pain and had to leave the floor in a wheelchair.
In his first season in the NBA, the 20-year-old Avdija has been averaging 6.3 points and 4.9 rebounds in 23.5 minutes.
