Luka Doncic posts 39 points in Mavericks’ win over Warriors

The Dallas Mavericks held on to beat Golden State Warriors 133-103 on the road, as Luka Doncic posted 39 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds for his team. Nicolo Melli followed with 13 points and Maxi Kleber had 10 for Dallas (34-27) who enjoyed a 28-0 run in the first half.

Stephen Curry scored 27 points with five more three-pointers to extend his NBA record for 3-pointers in a month to 90 in April.

Giannis Antetokounmpo flirted with triple-double figures as he helped the Milwaukee Bucks (38-23) overcome the Charlotte Hornets (30-31) 114-104. The Greek Freak posted 29 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists and the Bucks avoided a sweep against the Hornets, as the latter has beat the Bucks by 12 at home in January and by 8 in Milwaukee earlier this month.

Devonte Graham paced the Hornets with 25 points and Miles Bridges had 21 points, 10 rebounds.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (21-41) bounced back from a 14-game losing streak to defeat the Boston Celtics (32-30) 119-115. Aleksej Pokusevski was among the top contributors for the winners with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in 27 minutes, while Luguentz Dort led all scorers with 24 points.

Jaylen Brown paced the Celtics with a double-double of 39 points and 11 rebounds and Evan Fournier had 11 points, 7 rebounds.

Short-staffed Brooklyn Nets (42-20) overcame the Toronto Raptors (26-36) to clinch their playoffs spot on Tuesday with James Harden sidelined.  Jeff Green paced the team with 22 points, while Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin each posted 17 points for Brooklyn.

Kyle Lowry and Og Anunoby led the Raptors with 24 and 21 points respectively.

Juancho Hernangomez tapped 22 points and 7 rebounds coming from the bench to help the Minnesota Timberwolves (19-44) beat the Houston Rockets (15-47) 114-107. Karl-Anthony Towns led all scorers for Minnesota with 31 points  and Kelly Olynyk had 28 points for the Rockets.

Enes Kanter had 12 points and 14 rebounds coming from the bench and Jusuf Nurkic posted 11 points and 10 rebounds as the Portland Trail Blazers (32-28) ended a five-game skid with a 133-112 win over the Indiana Pacers (29-32).

Anfernee Simons paced the Blazers with 27 points and fell two three-points short of Damian Lillard’s franchise record and became the first NBA player to open a game with nine consecutive threes. Oshae Brissett and Malcolm Brogdon had 18 points each for the Pacers.
