Jayson Tatum scored a career-high 60 points and tied Larry Bird for the Boston Celtics scoring record in a single game during the 143 – 140 win over the San Antonio Spurs. It was a historic comeback victory for the Celtics that were trailing even by 32 points in the second period.
Not only did Tatum delivered an outstanding scoring performance with 20-37 shots (5-7 3-pointers0 but also got eight rebounds, dished out five assists while finishing with no turnovers in the 45 minutes he spent on the floor.
Quite a feat.
“That is… it’s hard to… I don’t know,” Tatum said on tying Bird’s record. “Obviously anytime you’re mentioned with a top-10 player of all time in any stat, obviously that is a good thing. It’s something I never I think would have imagined at this age.”
