LeBron James didn’t get “tunnel vision” despite a hit to the eye by Draymond Green, to propel the Los Angeles Lakers to a 103-100 win in the play-in game, with a heartbreaking three and less than a minute to play.
James was poked in the eye late in the fourth quarter and despite the hassle and dizziness, he explained the moment of the game-winner in the post-game press conference.
“After the finger to the eye, I was seeing three rims and shot at the middle one. By grace, I was able to knock it down. I’ve been poked in the eye before. It is going to be sore tonight and tomorrow, but we got a big-time win.“, said James, who exited the floor with his sixth triple-double of the season (22 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists).
James stepped up when the reigning NBA champions needed him the most, with a 34-footer three over Stephen Curry (his longest of the season), as the Lakers locked the 7th seed in the Western Conference play-in.
