Ja Morant, Grizzlies beat Warriors in OT to advance to the playoffs

Ja Morant’s heroics propelled the Memphis Grizzlies to a 117-112 win in overtime against the Golden State Warriors, to seal a spot for the 2021 NBA playoffs.

Morant posted 35 points to lead all Memphis scorers, Dillon Brooks had 14 and Jonas Valanciunas signed off with 9 points, 12 rebounds.

With this win, the Grizzlies earned the No. 8 seed and advanced to face top-seeded Utah in the first round of the best-of-seven Western Conference playoffs. Game 1 is Sunday in Salt Lake City.

Steph Curry led the Warriors with a game-high of 39 points while Andrew Wiggins posted 22 points and 10 rebounds.

The Grizzlies ended a three-year playoff drought since making seven straight appearances through 2016-17, and lost in the first round in its previous two apperances. On the other end, the Warriors will miss the playoffs for the second season straight, after last losing to the Toronto Raptors in the 2019 NBA finals.
