The Dallas Mavericks are up 1-0 in the best-of-seven series versus the Los Angeles Clippers. Boban Marjanovic, despite not playing in Game 1, is the key to locker room chemistry, as detailed by ESPN’s Sam Borden.
Luka Doncic is a known fan of Marjanovic. The biggest star and leader of the Mavs has become his sidekick in several situations from viral posts and more, most off the court. Team owner, Mark Cuban describes the relationship as “very paternal”.
“He’s amazing,” said Doncic, “You don’t meet these people every day, you know. He will help you any time. It’s just great to have him here.”
This season is his sixth in the NBA with his playing time shrunk to 8.2 minutes per 2020-21 regular-season contest. However, his 4.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game can’t effectively picture his contribution.
“It’s like having a cute dog in the locker room,” mentioned Cuban, “Like, 40 Great Danes or German shepherds piled on top of each other. Not that Bobi’s a puppy or anything, but he’s just got that joy to him that, that just comes out of him and that is just, I mean, it’s contagious.”
Marjanovic stands at 2.24 meters. Towering centers are steadily falling out of favor in the modern basketball world, but Doncic and the remaining teammates are surely taking in all he can offer.
