Brooklyn Nets head coach Steve Nash will not be counting on Kyrie Irving for Saturday’s Game 7 versus the Milwaukee Bucks, he said Friday.
Irving, 29, sprained his right ankle early in the second quarter of Game 4. Teammate Spencer Dinwiddie is also out. Both players can return should the Nets advance to the next round.
“He has some miles to go,” said Nash on Irving, “It is not a season-threatening situation.”
Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks are coming in to spoil the plans regarding an Eastern Conference Finals berth.
The remaining players of the Nets, including James Harden, are projected to remain available for the winner-take-all contest.
