The Milwaukee Bucks are two wins away from winning the conference title, though Giannis Antetokounmpo is likely to miss the remainder of the season, even though there is no structural damage to his knee, as it was first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Zach Lowe and then confirmed by the Bucks.
Antetokounmpo suffered a hyperextended left knee injury early in the second half of Game 4 in the Eastern Conference finals after contesting an alley-oop thrown to Clint Capela. The two-time MVP landed awkwardly on his left leg, visibly putting stress on his knee and was helped off the court.
To put things into perspective, Joel Embiid had suffered a similar injury in the past that has kept him sidelined for nearly a month, so this looks to be the case for Giannis as well. Officially, the timetable for his return is unclear and Giannis is considered “doubtful” for Game 5.
The Bucks are currently 2-2 against the Atlanta Hawks, with Game 5 taking place Thursday in Milwaukee.
