Devin Booker shot the lights out, made many big shots in the game and the Phoenix Suns are leading 2-0 in the NBA Finals after beating the Bucks 118-108. Booker scored 31 points on 7/12 threes, while the Suns in total had 20/40 from downtown.
Chris Paul added 23 points and eight assists for the winning side, while all the Suns’ starters scored in double-digits with Mikal Bridges having a playoffs career-high of 27 points plus seven rebounds.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had a stellar night, scoring 20 points in the third quarter and finishing the game with 42, plus 12 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks. However, the Greek Freak didn’t have the help needed in order to get the win.
The best the Bucks could do during Antetokounmpo’s crescendo was the trim the lead to five points. No other player in the last 25 years had scored 20 or more points in a quarter of the NBA Finals.
The Suns entered the last quarter leading by 10 (88-78), the Bucks managed once more to cut their lead to five (93-88) but the answer was a quick 10-0 run with two threes by Devin Booker (103-90) and the game was over.
Phoenix is now two wins away from the championship title as the series moves to Milwaukee.
