The Orlando Magic are considering picking Alperen Sengun in the approaching NBA draft, according to Sam Vecenie of The Athletic.
Sengun, 18, regarded as a lottery pick, has been attracting interest from NBA teams. The Magic currently holds the fifth and eighth selections. The report notes the team ranking the Turkish wonderkid as a potential replacement for Nikola Vucevic.
Vucevic, 30, was traded to the Chicago Bulls last March after a lengthy stay at Orlando.
The Magic are among the few teams having Sengun in for a workout.
The young center, named 2020-21 MVP of Turkey’s BSL, registered 18.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.6 blocks, and 1.3 steals per appearance in his domestic league, plus 23.0 points per FIBA Europe Cup contest with Besiktas Icrypex last season.
