Jaleen Smith was linked with many EuroLeague teams and some of the top EuroCup contenders; however, his goal is to make the most of a possible NBA chance.
The 26-years old undrafted point guard, who had a breakout season with MHP Ludwigsburg in the German BBL, winning the League MVP award, is currently working out for the Utah Jazz and the Philadelphia 76ers.
Smith averaged 15.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1.7 steals per game last season. Those are impressive numbers and Zalgiris Kaunas was the first EuroLeague club that came knocking for him.
However, with quality point guards in the European market being a commodity, not only the deal was not completed, but NBA interest appeared.
