Mavericks to reportedly focus on Kyle Lowry

Pursuing Kyle Lowry will be a part of Dallas Mavericks’ focus after the upcoming NBA Draft, reports Marc Stein. The Mavericks will be shifting the attention towards potentially adding the veteran All-Star guard to their roster and also re-signing Tim Hardaway Jr.

Per Stein:

“The Dallas Mavericks’ post-draft focus, sources say, will be the pursuit of Kyle Lowry (along with Miami, New Orleans and Philadelphia) and their bid to re-sign Tim Hardaway Jr. Dallas was initially expected to wait and see if Kawhi Leonard gave any indication that he was open to leaving the Clippers, but the Mavericks have moved off of those plans.”

Lowry, 36, is becoming an unrestricted free agent. In his exit interview, he said that he will be first and foremost consider his family when he makes his decision on where he’ll continue his career during free agency.

“To be honest with you, my family will be a major factor in this,” Lowry said then. “You know, also, money talks and years talk and all that stuff. And let’s be real – I play this game for the love of the game, but at the end of the day, I want to make sure my family is still taken care of for generations and the time to come.”
