The Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler ended up being the perfect match. Per Shams Charania, the 31-year-old star is expected to agree to a maximum four-year contract extension with the team which he led to the NBA Finals of 2020.
Butler’s maximum contract is expected to be in the excess of $184 million, depending on the salary cap numbers.
However, after spending six seasons with the Chicago Bulls, one in Minnesota and one in Philadelphia, Butler who moved to Miami in the summer of 2019 seems to finally have found the right place to be.
Last season he averaged 21.5 ppg and career highs of 7.1 apg and 6.9 rpg, becoming by far the most important player on the Heat’s roster.
While this time the Heat couldn’t beat the Milwaukee Bucks in the playoffs, the 2020 run to the NBA finals proved to be more than enough for Miami to trust Butler as their leader.
