While big man JaVale McGee is busy with Team USA in Tokyo, he has reached a one-year, $5M deal with Phoenix Suns, according to reports by Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes.
McGee, a three-time NBA champion (2017, 2018, 2020), last appeared with the Denver Nuggets in the 2020-21 season, coming from the Cleveland Cavaliers. He is currently part of Gregg Popovich’s selection in Tokyo, where he posts an average of 7 points, 1.3 rebounds per game.
McGee was first dealt from the Lakers to the Cavaliers during the 2020 offseason and after 33 games with Cavs, he landed in Denver. In 46 total games last season, McGee averaged 7.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks, while shooting 51.1% from the field, across 15 minutes on the court.
