Lauri Markkanen is a restricted free agent and the Chicago Bulls can match any offer sheet he may sign with an other team. According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Charlotte Hornets is one club that is strongly interested in potentially presenting an offer sheet to the Finnish forward.
Markkanen, as all other restricted free agents, may sign an offer sheet as early as this Friday (6/8).
In 2020-21, Markkanen averaged 13.6 points and 5.3 rebounds in 25.8 minutes over 51 games. Despite losing his role as a starter in the second half of the regular season, he finished with career-highs 48 percent on field goals and 4.02 in 3-pointers.
