The Brooklyn Nets and DeAndre Jordan have been considering parting ways via a potential contract buyout, per The Athletic.
Jordan, 33, can be on his way out, depending on other moves, namely the Nets deciding to bring in another bigman ahead of the 2021-22 season. His contract has two years and $19.7M left.
If Jordan indeed becomes a free agent, the Los Angeles Lakers will be among potential suitors, according to multiple recent reports.
The former Texas A&M standout fell out of favor during the previous season going from starter to slipping out of the rotation. He averaged 7.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.1 rebounds per contest over 57 appearances.
The 2017 NBA All-Star is heading towards his 14th NBA season. He has made his way to 989 games, 807 as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers from 2008 to 2018.
