Not only did Bogdan Bogdanovic and the Atlanta Hawks put an end to a playoff-less period of three years for the team last season, but also made it to the Conference Finals for the second time since the franchise moved to Atlanta in 1968.
It was a successful run overall overall, despite the elimination by the Milwaukee Bucks who went on to win the championship. What matters now for Bogdanovic is that the Hawks remain consistently strong so that they can establish themselves as league powerhouse.,
Here’s what Bogdanovic said to The Athletic:
“People still don’t believe in us, and that’s normal. To prove someone wrong, you have to do it multiple times. You can’t just do it once because once means nothing today. Whatever you do, you have to keep being on top. It can’t just be one season of success. You have to continuously be successful over many years. That’s what builds respect in the league because we’re not going to gain respect from other people in the league over one season.”
Bogdanovic helped the Hawks have one of their longest playoff runs ever by producing 14.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists in the postseason. He had a career-high average of 16.4 points, along with 3.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists in the regular season as Atlanta finished in the fifth place in the Eastern Conference with a 41-31 record.
