French shooting guard Isaia Cordinier is set to become a free agent after the Brooklyn Nets declined to submit a tender offer (which allows retaining the rights of a player who has not yet signed his rookie contract), as reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Back in August, Cordinier traveled to the States to practice with the Nets.
Cordinier, 24, was selected with the 44th pick in the 2016 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks and the Nets acquired his rights in a trade for Jeremy Lin back in 2018.
The French guard has spent the previous two seasons with Nanterre 92 and made it to the All-EuroCup First Team in 2021. He averaged 15.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 34 minutes across 13 EuroCup games during the 2020-21 campaign.
