After his recent trade to the Brooklyn Nets, French Sekou Doumbouya will be traded to the Houston Rockets and then be waived, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
UPDATE: The Nets officially completed the trade with the Rockets.
Per the press release: “The Brooklyn Nets have acquired cash considerations from the Houston Rockets in exchange for forward Sekou Doumbouya and a 2024 second round draft pick.
Doumbouya was acquired by Brooklyn in a trade with the Detroit Pistons on Sept. 4. He played 13 minutes in the Nets’ preseason victory at the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday afternoon, totaling 11 points and four rebounds. In 94 games (30 starts) across two seasons (2019-21) with the Pistons, Doumbouya averaged 5.6 points and 2.8 rebounds in 17.3 minutes per game.”
Doumbouya, 20, was picked 15th overall in the 2019 NBA draft by the Detroit Pistons. He since appeared in 94 Regular Season matches, including 30 starts, averaging 5.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per contest. The next step changes his status to a free agent. He is likely to sign a contract with another NBA team.
The Nets also sent a second-round pick to the Rockets in his trade. Furthermore, they traded the NBA rights of Juan Pablo Vaulet, currently an AEK player, to the Indiana Pacers for Edmond Sumner and a second-round pick via the Miami Heat, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Injured Sumner will also be waived, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Vaulet, 25 was picked 39th overall in the 2015 draft. He recently joined AEK after spending a couple of seasons at Baxi Manresa. Also, he has evolved into an Argentina senior team regular with his caps highlighted this summer by him being named to the squad for the 2020 Olympic Games. He averaged 2.5 points and 1.0 rebounds per game in Tokyo.
The former European star, Brad Wanamaker penned a training camp deal with the Pacers, per Wojnarowski. Since leaving Fenerbahce in 2018, the former Pittsburgh standout has made his way to 189 NBA games between the Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, and Charlotte Hornets.
