Bogdan Bogdanovic got both his shooting and passing form going to help the Atlanta Hawks register their first win in the 2021-22 preseason. The Serbian guard scored 16 points on 4-6 triples and dished out five assists as his team beat the Memphis Grizzlies 91 – 87 on the road.
Danilo Gallinari came off the bench to produce 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Hawks in 21 minutes. Atlanta will next face the Miami Heat at home and will look to get some payback for the 99 – 125 loss in the preseason opener.
After going scoreless in his Grizzlies‘ debut, Spanish rookie big man Santi Aldama made an impression with 16 points and nine rebounds in 27 minutes.
The New York Knicks were the dominant team in the second half to defeat the Washington Wizards 117 – 99. Evan Fournier contributed 14 points for the winning squad that is now 2-0 in preseason after pouring 24 3-pointers on the Wizards.
Davis Bertans dropped eight points in an off (1-8 3-pointers) shooting night for both him and the Washington overall (5-31 from beyond the arc), in total contrast from their opponents. Deni Avdija had four points.
Juancho Hernangomez drained the game-winning free throws with seven seconds to play to hand the Boston Celtics a dramatic 113 – 111 win over the Toronto Raptors. He completed the game with seven points in nine minutes off the bench.
Jayson Tatum led the Celtics overall with 20 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.
Svi Mykhailiuk had 12 points and Goran Dragic scored six for the Raptors.
