French forward Axel Toupane has signed a deal with the Golden State Warriors, the franchise officially announced Saturday.
Toupane, 29, was invited to Golden State’s training camp last year and took part in nine games with the Santa Cruz Warriors in the 2020-21 campaign. He posted an average of 17.9 points on 53.8% shooting from the field, 8.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists across 31.8 minutes on the court.
The Frenchman has signed a two-way deal with the Milwaukee Bucks in March 2021 and played 8 games for the reigning champs with a limited contribution on the court (1.8 points in 7.6 minutes across eight contests). That was his second stint in Milwaukee, after signing a 10-day contract with the franchise in the 2016-2017 season.
The Warriors will be his fourth overall stop in the NBA, after playing for the Denver Nuggets, New Orleans Pelicans, and Milwaukee.
