Giannis Antetokounmpo has averaged 35 points per contest in the last two games starting at center for the Milwaukee Bucks. Among the topics of discussion in a recent edition of ESPN’s NBA Today.

Retired player turned sports analyst Kendrick Perkins weighed in his opinion. “When you move Giannis at the five, you put him in the best position to be successful,” he said, “He is the most dominating player in the league.”

Another perspective comes from NFL insider, Marcus Spears. “Giannis is one through five,” he pointed out, “I don’t want to label him as a center, because it diminishes a whole lot of other stuff.”

Antetokounmpo, 26, shifted to center for the visit to the Indiana Pacers and most recently against the Minnesota Timberwolves at home. He poured 30 and 40 points, respectively. However, the defending champions lost to the Wolves falling to 3-2.

The young 2021-22 Regular Season is the ninth NBA campaign for the Greek Freak. Largely close to the previous seasons, he is averaging 27.6 points, 11.6 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 2.0 blocks, and 1.0 steals per contest while helping the Bucks from multiple positions on the court.

Back in 2013, Milwaukee was investing in a youngster coming from Greece and Filathlitikos. Antetokounmpo has since arguably become the most feared player in the NBA. He was named MVP in 2019 and 2020 and Defensive Player of the Year in 2020 and also launched an All-Star Game streak from 2017 to the present, even before landing the 2021 Finals MVP award leading the Bucks to the first championship in 50 years.
