Nikola Jokic dominant with double-double, Franz Wagner continues to impress

Denver Nuggets got a scare when Nikola Jokic suffered a knee contusion but the reigning MVP brushed it off and continued on to dominate the following games as usual.

His latest performance proved so as well. The Serbian big logged 26 points, 19 rebounds, and seven assists in a 93-91 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

On the contrary, the reigning champions Milwaukee Bucks suffered a 102-93 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, despite Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 28 points and 13 rebounds. His brother Thanasis added eight boards without scoring. On the opposing squad, Jakob Poeltl had eight points and six boards.

Another great Euro performance could be seen in the duel of the Pelicans and the Knicks, where Jonas Valanciunas and Evan Fournier went against each other.

Valanciunas went off for 27 points, 14 rebounds, four assists but his team lost the game 123-117. Fournier scored 19 points for the victors.

Meanwhile, Franz Wagner continued to impress. The eighth pick in the 2021 NBA Draft has had quite a solid start to the season and he put up a game-high 19 points for the Orlando Magic who lost to the Detroit Pistons. His brother Moe Wagner scored 13 points.

Domantas Sabonis carried on the momentum from the last season into this one as well. His latest performance came in Indiana’s close loss to Toronto. The Lithuanian had 22 points, 14 rebounds as the best player on the court. Svi Mykhailiuk logged 16 points, four boards, two assists for the Raptors.

The Hawks for routed by the Sixers as Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 13 points and Clint Capela added 11 points, 12 rebounds. Cedi Osman was great with 20 points in the Cavs’ loss to the Suns while his teammate Ricky Rubio scored eight points.

In a Serbian duel, between a veteran and a prospect, Nemanja Bjelica’s Warriors came out on top against Aleksej Pokusevski’s Thunder. Bjelica put up six points, eight boards, three assists while Poku had seven points, nine boards.

Nikola Vucevic was solid in his support to DeMar Derozan and Zach LaVine with 16 points and 12 rebounds as the Bulls improve to a 4-1 record. For the Jazz, Rudy Gobert had 17 points, 19 boards while Bojan Bogdanovic scored 19 points and grabbed nine boards.
