Cleveland Cavaliers veteran forward Kevin Love is expected to miss several games as he entered the NBA’s health and safety protocol Monday.

Love was sidelined in Cavs’ contest against Charlotte Hornets on the road on NBA’s Anniversary night and it’s not yet known when he will be able to return to action.

The franchise released a statement concerning his absence, in which they mention that “further updates will be provided at the appropriate time.”

Love, 33, came off the bench in seven contests so far in the 2021-22 season, with averages of 9.9 points, 7.3 rebounds in 20 minutes, in his eighth campaign with the Cavaliers.

“It’s a huge impact,” Cavs head coach J.B. Bickerstaff commented. “Not only Kevin as a player, but him as a person around the locker room and on the floor with the guys, helping the young guys through a lot of things that they’re seeing. He makes their job easier as a basketball player”.
