Nikola Jokic was close to his third-straight triple-double as the Nuggets got the job done against the Trail Blazers

Nikola Jokic was one rebound and one assist short from his third straight triple-double as the Denver Nuggets delivered a 124-95 blowout to Portland Trail Blazers, in the wake of Damian Lillard’s absence.

Jokic scored 28 points for Denver, with a perfect three-out-of-three from beyond the arch, to go along with 9 rebounds and 9 assists in this victory.

CJ McCollum stepped up for Portland with 21 points, while Jusuf Nurkic had just 4 points and 6 rebounds in 21 minutes on the court.

The Atlanta Hawks snapped back from a six-game skid to take down reigning champions Milwaukee Bucks 120-100, with the help of Trae Young who scored a season-high of 42 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds.

Adding up to Young’s efforts, Clint Capela signed off with a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds, Danilo Gallinari dropped 10 points coming from the bench and Bogdan Bogdanovic had 6 points.

Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 26 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds, though the team suffered its second consecutive defeat.

Phoenix Suns won their eighth straight game with a 115-89 victory on the road against the Houston Rockets, as Devin Booker led the way once more with 26 points and six assists. Houston fell further down the standings with their 11th straight defeat, and picked up 17 points by Christian Wood.

Kevin Durant returned to Oklahoma and helped the Brooklyn Nets cruise to a 120-96 win over the Thunder, with a 33-point performance. Patty Mills added up 29 points for Brooklyn and James Harden had 16 points and 13 assists as the Nets remain second in the Eastern Conference standings.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luguentz Dort had 23 and 20 points respectively for Thunder and Aleksey Pokusevski contributed 8 points and 6 rebounds in 20 minutes from the bench.

The Charlotte Hornets stopped Golden State Warriors‘ seven-game winning streak on Sunday night after rallying in the fourth quarter to get a 106-102 win.

Miles Bridges and Terry Rozier got the job done for the Hornets with 22 and 20 points respectively, as the team has now won its third straight game. Andrew Wiggins scored 28 points for the Warriors and Stephen Curry had  24 points and 10 assists in his homecoming.

DeMar DeRozan tapped 35 points and Zach LaVine scored 29 for the Chicago Bulls, to help their team grab a 100-90 win against the LA Clippers, which previously held on to a  seven-game winning streak.  Paul George had a double-double with 27 points and 11 rebounds for the Clippers, and Eric Bledsoe added 21 points for the Clippers, that lost for the first time since October 29 (against the Portland Trail Blazers).

The Los Angeles Lakers missed LeBron James for one more game, yet they beat San Antonio Spurs 114-106 at home, with the help of Anthony Davis who signed off with a double-double of 34 points and 15 rebounds.

Talen Horton-Tucker had 17 points for the Lakers in his season debut and Carmelo Anthony followed with 15 points. Dejounte Murray led the Spurs with a triple-double of 22 points with 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
