LeBron James has been sidelined with an abdominal strain since early November and was initially projected to return to action after a week.
James has missed the last six games of the Lakers though he is making progress and will return to action “soon”, as reported by ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.
“The source said James is ‘progressing great’ in his on-court workouts. However, Vogel said the 19-year veteran has yet to participate in a full practice or take part in contact drills”, mentions McMenamin in his report.
Without James, the Lakers are on a 3-3 record and 8-6 overall in the 2021-22 season so far. Anthony Davis even commented on the team’s ups and downs late last week, following a tough loss to the Boston Celtics, stating that the Lakers are “not a championship team right now”.
With that being said, the momentum is not looking good for the Lakers for as long as they are missing 36-year-old James, who is is on to his 19th NBA campaign and averaging 24.8 points on 46.7% shooting, 7 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game.
