It has been more than two years since Klay Thomspon played an official game in the NBA for the Golden State Warriors but the long wait might soon be coming to an end.
According to reports, Thompson participated in a 5-on-5 workout and coach Steve Kerr confirmed after the win against Brooklyn that he has indeed been cleared for contact.
However, that still means that he will be out for the rest of the year. At the soonest, he would step on the court on Christmas Day (December 25). The Warriors are in no rush as the team is doing well with the league-best 12-2 start to the season.
Meanwhile, New Orleans Pelicans also got some good news as Zion Williamson has been cleared for contact but starting with 1-on-1 workouts.
He won’t participate in 5-on-5 before November 24 at the earliest, which is the date he will have another round of scans done. Unlike the Warriors, Pelicans have been struggling early on with a 2-3 record.
