Washington Wizards forward Davis Bertans could be back to action next week after missing the first half of November with an ankle injury.
“I’m not sure at what point [he’ll return], but he’s progressing nicely, doing more every day,” Wizards coach Wes Unseld Jr. said per The Washington Post. “So I would foresee it happening this upcoming week.”
Bertans suffered a left ankle sprain early in the first quarter of the Wizards’ 111 – 118 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on November 1st. The Latvian player was hurt after a collision with Hawks center Gorgui Dieng and was forced to exit the game.
He was averaging 6.1 points and 1.7 rebounds before his injury.
The Wizards face the Charlotte Hornets at home Monday (23/11) before embarking on a road trip with four straight away games at New Orleans Pelicans (25/11), Oklahoma City Thunder (27/11), Dallas Mavericks (28/11) and San Antonio Spurs (30/11). They are currently tied with the Chicago Bulls at 11 -5 and the second place in the Eastern Conference standings.
