Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks won their fifth straight game, all of them at home, with the latest coming against Detroit with 114-93 on the scoreboard.
Giannis was the leading scorer of the night with 33 points while also adding seven rebounds and five assists. Bobby Portis followed him with 28 points and ten rebounds while Jrue Holiday had 22 points, eight boards, six assists.
Meanwhile, LeBron James had to step up big time for the struggling LA Lakers and lead them to a 124-116 road win over Indiana after overtime.
LeBron went for 39 points, six assists, five boards while Russell Westbrook followed with 20 points. For Indiana, Domantas Sabonis had 14 points, 12 boards, six assists.
Cedi Osman was outstanding with 23 points for Cleveland but his and Jarrett Allen’s efforts weren’t enough against the Phoenix Suns who got a 12-115 win. Devin Booker outplayed them with 35 points while Chris Paul dished out 12 assists next to his 17 points.
Nikola Vucevic logged a 14-point, 13-rebound double-double but the Chicago Bulls suffered a 118-113 upset by the hands of the struggling Houston Rockets. Portland was beaten as well, by Sacramento, but Jusuf Nurkic had a big game with 28 points, 17 boards, five assists.
Another European big man in Jonas Valanciunas put on a double-double with 21 points, 11 rebounds but in a winning effort as the Pelicans got a 127-102 win over Washington.
Willy Hernangomez had 13 points for New Orleans. Youngsters Teo Maledon and Aleksej Pokusevski scored six and four points for Oklahoma while the opposing European duo outshined them greatly. Bojan Bogdanovic scored 19 and Rudy Gobert 15 points (17 boards) to lead Utah to win.
Bogdan Bogdanovic was great as well with 18 points while Clint Capela had 11 points, 13 boards. Jakob Poeltl answered with 15 points, ten boards for the losing Spurs.
Franz Wagner and moe Wagner had solid outings with 16 and 13 points respectively in loss to Charlotte while Dennis Schroder had ten points, six assists, six boards against Brooklyn in the loss as well.
