The Denver Nuggets‘ fears turned out true as PJ Dozier has been diagnosed with a torn ACL in his left knee, the team announced. Dozier was carried off the court after landing awkwardly in the first quarter of the loss to Portland.
The 25-year-old averaged 5.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists across all 18 games of the 2021-22 NBA regular season and was one of the leading bench players for the Nuggets.
Denver has already been missing Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. long-term while Nikola Jokic has also been missing time with a wrist sprain. Bones Hyland picked up an injury as well.
