Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. will miss the remainder of the 2021-22 campaign, as he will have to undergo lower back surgery, as reported by The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Porter, 23, is expected to make a full recovery, his agent Mark Bartelstein tells per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.  The Nuggets are expected to release a timetable for his return after the surgery, which is scheduled for Wednesday. The young forward has undergone another surgery on his back before joining the Nuggets.

Porter has been averaging 9.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists on 36% shooting across 9 games this season. The Nuggets are now called to proceed without him and Jamal Murray, who is also sidelined indefinitely.
