A number of teams have stood out this year in the NBA but non as much as the Golden State Warriors and the Phoenix Suns. The two teams clashed for the first time this season and the Suns logged a 104-96 home win.
With this win, the Suns continued their 17-game undefeated streak and caught up to the Warriors at the top of the league, as both now hold 18-3 records.
Deandre Ayton led the way with 24 points and 11 rebounds while Chris Paul produced a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards. The biggest reason for the team’s success was actually on defense, however. The Suns kept Golden State under 100 points and even more importantly kept Steph Curry at 12 points.
Jordan Poole tried to make up for it with 28 points. Nemanja Bjelica had four points, six boards, two assists.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn Nets got the better of the neighboring New York Knicks in the final seconds of the game with 112-110. James Harden went off with 24 points, ten rebounds, eight assists while Kevin Durant had 27-5-9.
Among Europeans that stepped on the court last night, Killian Hayes and Jusuf Nurkic scored 13 points each as their squads went against each other while Svi Mykhailiuk scored seven points for Toronto.
