The LA Lakers have been struggling in the 2021-22 season so far, especially so when LeBron James hasn’t been able to play, and even with him on the floor, the Californian team has suffered some surprising losses, to say the least.
The most recent one happened to the Memphis Grizzlies, a team that has been on a great streak but also without two important players in Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks. And the LA squad had an early lead.
But they gambled it away and let the game slip through their fingers which prompted Anthony Davis to criticize the team’s mindset going into the matchups.
“These guys already feel like they’re the underdogs when they’re coming in, especially when they’re without their star players. And we got to play like we’re the underdogs. Which, now, at this point of the season, the way we’re playing, a lot of games, we probably are,” Davis said and added.
“I think when their star players are out, we have to lock in even more because these guys have no conscience. They want to come in and beat the Lakers, beat LeBron, beat AD, beat whoever, beat Melo. Like, they want to say, ‘I gave the Lakers 30, 25, whatever.”
