Anthony Davis suffered a couple of injuries as the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves Friday evening.

Davis, 28, did not return after a left knee contusion. Stumbling on his way back to the locker room raised concerns at the Lakers. He had recovered from rolling his right ankle earlier at Target Center.

The Kentucky product recently missed a couple of games of the 2021-22 NBA Regular Season due to left knee soreness.

He will undergo an MRI on his left knee in Chicago on Saturday, mentioned head coach Frank Vogel. “We asked him how he’s doing and he said we’ll find out more tomorrow and that’s all we know,” noted LeBron James.

The Lakers are scheduled to take on the Chicago Bulls on Sunday. The last two games of their next opponents were postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

Davis missed two games last week with left knee soreness. He has made his way to 27 games so far this season, putting up 23.3 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, two blocks, and 1.2 steals per contest.

The Lakers are already short plenty of players with Avery Bradley, Talen Horton-Tucker, Dwight Howard, Malik Monk, Kendrick Nunn, and Austin Reaves in the league’s health and safety protocols. Trevor Ariza is also sidelined recovering from a right ankle injury.

On the contrary, Russell Westbrook was cleared from the health and safety protocols and jumped right back into action without missing a single game. He had 14 points, four rebounds, three assists, and one block over 29 minutes in the loss against the Timberwolves.

Isaiah Thomas went for 19 points in 22 minutes after returning to the NBA and the Lakers on a ten-day contract. Rookie Chaundee Brown lasted 15 minutes but did not score in his NBA debut.
