Anthony Davis underwent MRI scanning after suffering a couple of injuries in the Los Angeles Lakers Friday’s contest against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The scan revealed a knee sprain and Davis will have to miss at least four weeks of action before his condition is re-evaluated. Davis recently also missed a couple of games due to left knee soreness. He is averaging 23.3 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.0 blocked shots per contest in the 2021-22 campaign.
His injury adds up to an already limited rotation, as Avery Bradley, Talen Horton-Tucker, Dwight Howard, Malik Monk, Kendrick Nunn, and Austin Reaves are all placed in the NBA’s health and safety protocols.
The Lakers will face the Chicago Bulls on Sunday, who are also facing rotation trouble with several players in the COVID-19 protocols. DeMar DeRozan, Coby White and Javonte Green have all cleared protocols and are expected to return to action Sunday.
