Isaiah Thomas is signing with the Dallas Mavericks, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. Thomas will be joining his new team in the game against the Sacramento Kings Wednesday (29/12).
Thomas had signed a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Lakers earlier in December but the 2020 champions didn’t bring him back after the completion of the deal. The two-time All-Star guard played four games during which he averaged 9.3 points (on 30.8 percent shooting), 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 25.3 minutes.
The Mavericks have Luka Doncic plus Tim Hardaway, Maxi Kleber, Reggie Bullock, Trey Burke and JaQuori McLaughlin in the NBA health and safety protocols for COVID-19 while Boban Marjanovic and Brandon Knight were reported to be joining this list. Thomas was signed to a hardship deal in light of these numerous absences.
