Former NBA champion Mario Chalmers returns to the Miami Heat with a 10-day contract, per reports by The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Chalmers, 35, a two-time NBA champ with the Heat (2012, 2013), started the season with Indios de Mayagüez in Puerto Rico, before moving to the NBA G-League with the Grand Rapids Gold.
After his successful NBA run with the Heat and the Memphis Grizzlies, Chalmers landed in Europe in the 2018-19 season with Virtus Bologna. He then moved to Greece with AEK Athens in the 2019-20 campaign and Aris Thessaloniki the following year.
The Heat are among several NBA teams struggling with the COVID-19 spike and had their Wednesday game against the San Antonio Spurs suspended, since they didn’t have the minimum eight players to compete.
