With three minutes remaining in the third quarter of the Miami Heat – Golden State Warriors contest on Monday night, All-Star Jimmy Butler slipped on the court with an apparent knee injury and had to be helped off by his teammates.
Butler, 32, landed after turning his foot awkwardly during a dribble and appeared to be in pain as both Hawks and Warriors players reached out to help him on his feet again. He did not return to the game.
Butler has already been sidelined for 15 games in the 2021-22 season due to various injuries, including a tail bone contusion and an ankle sprain last November. He posted 22 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists for the Heat prior to his exit, and the Heat fell to the Warriors 108-115.
Butler is posting averages of 23.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.0 steals per contest this season, while shooting 50% from the field.
