Evan Fournier was too much of an unwelcoming host to former team Boston Celtics. The French wing scored a new career-high 41 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the New York Knicks to a 108 – 105 win after a comeback from down 24 points.
Fournier produced 10-14 3-pointers and led the turnaround charge in a crazy hot night for him. His efforts could’ve been in vain though if not for RJ Barrett who hit the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer for Knicks. It was a very tough shot, heavily contested by Jayson Tatum’s defense.
Dennis Schroder had 20 points and five rebounds for the Celtics who led by 24 in the second period and were up 20 with five minutes left in the third quarter. Fournier hit consecutive triples to reduce the deficit for the Knicks and made the go-ahead 3-pointer for the 99 – 98 with two minutes to play before a thrilling finale.
