After two years, Meta World Peace returned to the Los Angeles Lakers, with whom he won the NBA title in 2010. The 35-year-old small forward reached an agreement on a non-guaranteed deal to rejoin the team as it was announced.

World Peace comes back to the NBA, after the 2013-2014 season. Last year, he started the season in China for the Sichuan Blue Whales. In 15 games with the chinese squad, he averaged 19 points, six rebounds and 2.3 steals per game. Due to a knee injury, though, he left the team in December and four months later, in March, he signed with Pallacanestro Cantu, playing for the Italian squad until the end of the Lega Basket Serie A season.

However, Cantu was unable to reach an agreement with him on a new contract, so his return to the NBA is now a reality. In a total of 15 years in the NBA, Metta World Peace averaged 13.7 points and 4.7 rebounds, playing for the Chicago Bulls, the Indiana Pacers, the Sacramento Kings, the Houston Rockets, the New York Knicks and  the Los Angeles Lakers, respectively.
