The Sacramento Kings are going all-in to acquire Domantas Sabonis. According to the Sacramento Bee, the Kings are now willing to include the previously “taboo” De’Aaron Fox’s name in the trade talks on Sabonis.
Fox wasn’t even up for discussion in past trade seasons but it seems that this has now changed since Sacramento is putting their former No. 5 pick on the table if it means that this will help them get Sabonis. Alvin Gentry’s team is apparently counting big time on the potential impact of the two-time Lithuanian big man to finally become a playoffs team after missing the postseason every year since 2006.
“In most sports, most players come up in trade talks,” Fox recently commented. So far in 2021-22, he has been averaging 20.9 points, 5.1 assists and 3.7 rebounds.
Sabonis has been having his most productive stretch in the season so far with 22.8 points, 11.5 rebounds and 6.6 assists in January but the Pacers are 1-7. In the 2021-22 overall, he’s been posting 18.9 rebounds, 11.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists.
