Chicago Bulls‘ Lonzo Ball is expected to miss six to eight weeks of action as he will undergo arthroscopic surgery to treat an injury he suffered on his left knee, per the team’s Thursday announcement.
Ball, 24, has missed the Bulls‘ last three games following a defeat to the Golden State Warriors last week, while the team hoped he could avoid surgery.
Ball moved to Chicago from the New Orleans Pelicans in a sign-and-trade deal this past offseason and so far he is a major contributor on the squad, posting averages of 13 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game. The Bulls are currently placed first in the Eastern Conference standings with an overall record of 28-15 and will take on the Milwaukee Bucks on the road Friday.
