In a clash of two teams that have somewhat unexpectedly quietly been climbing the NBA standings fast, the Dallas Mavericks got a 104-91 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
Luka Doncic was the main force behind the winning side’s effort with 37 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists, flirting with a triple-double. Kristaps Porzingis followed with 15 points, eight rebounds. Ja Morant had 35 points, 13 boards, six assists for the losing team.
Meanwhile, Nikola Jokic also delivered a strong performance with 34 points, nine rebounds, eight assists as Denver got past Detroit with 117-111 on the scoreboard. Facundo Campazzo had nine points while for Detroit, Killian Hayes logged eight points, five assists.
The performance of the night, however, must go to the Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum who erupted with a 51-point display in the win over Washington for which Deni Avdija scored 13 points.
Orlando made an upset with a 114-95 win over Chicago with Moe and Franz Wagner leading the charge. The Germans scored 23 and 18 points respectively. DeMar DeRozan scored 41 for the Bulls with Nikola Vucevic having 13 points, 13 boards.
While Philadelphia got a 115-109 win over the Spurs, the spotlight went to the center matchup. Joel Embiid dominated with 38 points, 12 boards, six assists but Jakob Poeltl had quite a solid response with 25 points, ten rebounds. Furkan Korkmaz scored 17 for Philly.
Two more notable European performance happened on the Utah Jazz side in the close loss to the Golden State Warriors. Bojan Bogdanovic scored 21 while Rudy Gobert had 12 points and 18 rebounds.
