After two months without a team, Janis Timma moved to the G League and penned a deal with the Lakeland Magic, the Orlando Magic affiliate.
Timma played for the Magic in the Summer League in 2021 and Orlando has been the holder of his rights since 2015 after the Memphis Grizzlies, who drafted him, traded them.
The 29-year-old Latvian started the season with UNICS Kazan on a one-month deal but parted ways with the team without extending for the remainder of the season. He was without a club since.
Prior to UNICS, Timma played for Khimki, Olympiacos, Zenit, Baskonia and Riga. He spent the previous seven seasons playing in either Euroleague or EuroCup.
At the international level, he has represented Latvia in the 2015 and 2017 editions of EuroBasket, and also competed in multiple qualifying tournaments at the senior level over the years.
