Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam and New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram were named the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, NBA announced Monday.
Siakam, 27, produced 24.8 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per contest powering the Raptors to four wins in as many games from January 31 to February 6. The Canadian franchise currently sits sixth in the Eastern Conference thanks to the 28-23 overall record.
Ingram, 24, averaged 27.3 points, 9.3 assists, and 1.7 steals per contest over the 16th week of the 2021-22 Regular Season, The Pelicans recorded three wins in four games moving up to tenth place in the Western Conference behind the 21-32 W-L tally.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Doncic were among the other nominees for the Week 16 awards, as noted. Besides the Milwaukee Bucks and Dallas Mavericks European stars, Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers, Lu Dort of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies, Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Jarrett Allen of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Bobby Portis of the Bucks, DeMar DeRozan of the Chicago Bulls, and Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers were in the running for the weekly nods.
