Domantas Sabonis will continue his career with the Sacramento Kings. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Indiana Pacers are sending the Lithuanian big man along with Jeremy Lamb, Justin Holiday and a second-round pick to the Kings in exchange for Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield and Tristan Thompson.
Sabonis, 25, was previously reported to be among the top targets for the Kings during the trade season. Sacramento has been considering the two-time All-Star as someone who could transform the team’s game inside the paint and really enhance the performance of the squad overall.
So far in 2021-22, Sabonis is averaging 18.9 points, 12.1 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 34.7 minutes over 47 games. The Kings will be the third team in an NBA career that started in 2016 with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He traded to the Pacers in 2017 and began to rapidly improve his game, rising to All-Star status in 2020.
