Daniel Theis had his best years in the NBA as a member of the Celtics and he is heading back to Boston. According to multiple reports the German big man is traded from Houston which will get German guard Dennis Schroder and also Enes Freedom Kanter, who is expected to be waived, and Bruno Fernando from the Celtics.

Theis, whom the Celtics dealt away at last year’s trade deadline, was a key member of the team.

The Celtics also agreed to trade guard Josh Richardson, forward Romeo Langford, and a protected 2022 first-round pick to the Spurs in exchange for guard Derrick White. The draft pick is protected 1-4.

White, 27, is averaging 14.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. During his first two seasons in San Antonio, Celtics head coach Ime Udoka was an assistant coach there. Also, White was teammates with Celtics Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart at the 2019 FIBA World Cup.

Richardson had become an integral part of Udoka’s eight-man rotation, averaging 9.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game while shooting 39.7 percent from the 3-point line. He was acquired in a trade with the Mavericks last summer and signed a one-year, $12.2 million contract extension for the 2022-23 season soon after.

Earlier Thursday, the Celtics agreed to trade guard P.J. Dozier and forward Bol Bol and a future second-round pick to the Magic in exchange for a future second-round pick, multiple league sources confirmed.
